Each year KW hosts "Make - A - Wish Week".  The Student Council hosts several fund raisers to help grant a wish for a child through the Make a Wish foundation.  Over the past several years, KW has been able to raise enough money during the week to grant a wish for a child (each wish can cost $6000+).  Last year they raised enough for 2 wishes.

Among the many activities, "Rodstock" has been a part of their week.  "Rodstock" is named after Rod Mahaffey - an english teacher at the school that is described as "kind of an old hippy".  He would bring his guitar to english class and play and sing for his kids on the last day of school.  This grew into a whole day of singing and playing, and before long it was moved to the auditorium and the entire school was attending. Kelly Walsh has merged "Rodstock" with Wish Week and began taking donations from the student body - last year over $3000 was raised just from "Rodstock".  Over the years it has grown into not just Rod, but the entire KW family spending the day together playing, singing, and sharing all kinds of amazing talents (both students and faculty) and raising money for a great cause.

Rod is retiring this year - so today is his last "Rodstock".  The students and staff wanted to make it special. So in addition to the regular all-day affair, they are also extending Rodstock into the evening and inviting the community - from 7:00 - 10:00PM  tonight . They have also invited back some students and old musician friends of Rod's to make it really special. Student body Secretary and Chair of the event Jessica Berg stopped by to visit about the day and is joined by Student Body Vice-President Casey Keith.

Tickets to the evening event are available for $15 and with the higher goals, they would like to sell it out (600 or so seats).  Tickets will be available at the door.
