A Casper man is going to prison after admitting to stalking a person that he once tried to rape.

Twenty-Eight year old Rodolfo Barranco was sentenced to one and one-half to four years in prison, after pleading guilty on one count of stalking.

According to Casper Police, in November, they received a call from Guadalupe Jimenez, who said she was contacted by Barranco, saying he was going to burn her house down.

Jimenez told officers she had known Barranco from an earlier incident, when he tried to rape her in Colorado.

Police found Barranco circling around the neighborhood near Jimenez’s home.

After his arrest, officers found a three-year protection order from Colorado issued a year ago, ordering Barranco to stay away from Jiminez.
