A single vehicle crash on December 21st resulted in the death of 31 year old Miguel A. Ramirez Rodriguez of Rock Springs, Wyoming. It happened at 2:10 a.m. on Interstate 80 approximately one mile west of Rock Springs.

Mr. Ramirez Rodriguez was driving an SUV traveling west on I 80 when he left the roadway to the north. He overcorrected back to the south causing it to leave the roadway and enter the median while spinning. The truck the hit the cable barrier located in the median. Mr. Ramirez Rodriguez was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected and died at the scene.

Alcohol use is being investigated as the contributing factor in this crash. Mr. Ramirez Rodriguez marked the 147th highway fatality in Wyoming for 2014.
