A 29-year-old Rock Springs man has been bound over for a district court trial on charges that he attacked and choked his ex-wife as well as holding her prisoner.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell said Allen James ''AJ'' Hendrickson was arrested in Rock Springs on June 2 on a warrant charging him with strangulation of a household member, two counts of domestic battery (second offense), two counts of false imprisonment, and unlawful contact without bodily injury.

Some of the charges stemmed from a May 9 incident in which Hendrickson's ex-wife, Aubrey Jones, was found unconscious at an underpass east of Rock Springs. Jones told a deputy she had gone to the underpass to help Hendrickson with a flat tire, and that he had ''backhanded her across the face."

She also said Hendrickson had threatened to kill her and her daughter on several different occasions. She claimed that a few days before that Hendrickson had prevented her from leaving when she wanted.

In a separate incident on May 7, she claimed he had "choked her so hard she saw silver stars" and that she had started to black out. He had also allegedly threatened to kill her while he was beating her up.

Hendrickson was bound over for trial on the charges Tuesday. He is currently being held on $50,000 bond in the Sweetwater County jail.
