A Casper man is heading to prison after admitting that he tried to hire someone to set fire to his ex-girlfriend’s car.

53-year old Robert Turner was sentenced to serve eight-to-ten years at the Wyoming State Penitentiary, following his guilty plea to one charge of solicitation to commit property damage.

Investigators say in late July, Turner’s ex-girlfriend ended a two-and-a-half year relationship with him.

Prosecutors say Turner later started making threats to the victim through her Facebook friends.

In August, police were contacted by another man who said Turner paid him to set his ex-girlfriend’s car on fire.

Prosecutors used the informant to get Turner to admit his plans, taping the conversation to use as evidence.
