A Casper man has admitted that he had inappropriate images of children on his computer.

Robert Miller has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of children by way of possession of child pornography.

Prosecutors say in August 2014, an investigator with the Casper Police Department was examining a file sharing website and observed that an IP address (later determined to be from Casper), appeared to be sharing digital files of child pornography.

The address was traced to a wireless router at an apartment, but upon conducting a search, it was determined the apartment housed people with mental and physical disabilities and they were not capable of using computers.

Police found the router inside the building and after checking the system log, they identified a number of computers that had access...one of them being Miller's computer.

It turned out that Miller had access to the router inside the building, because he was one of the caretakers of the apartment tenants.

When interviewed, Miller confessed to what he did, stating he was curious.

A forensic examination later found evidence inside his computer.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors will seek no more than a one and one-half to three year prison sentence.

Miller is free on $7,500 bond and will be sentenced at a later date.
