Plans are taking shape to bring the Revolution 3, or REV3 Adventure Race to Wyoming next summer.

Casper Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau Executive Director, Aaron McCreight says they've locked in a five year contract with the Virginia based adventure race group that will bring a 200 mile 2-day 4-person-team relay race here next July.

"We as a state have really been looking for an event to showcase this state as a destination for these types of races."

The first event, the Wyoming Cowboy Tough Expedition Race, is scheduled to start in Cheyenne and end in Casper. He says the race producers have already chosen, but are keeping secret, the 200 mile course, which he says involves multiple modes of transport and plenty of obstacles.

The larger event, McCreight says will be wrapped around smaller REV3 races in Casper, like a 5k and 10k, and a scavenger hunt.

He says they hope to build a large enough purse to attract top teams from across the country and he says they've already had some of those top teams register.

So, if a 200 mile cross country race sounds like your calling, let the folks at the Casper Area Convention and Visitors Bureau know, because Team Wyoming is being assembled.
