Both Natrona County Commissioners whose terms expire this year have indicated they will run for re-election.

Ed Opella and Matt Keating  filed their intentions with the county elections office last week.

Natrona County Clerk, Renee Vitto, says anyone interested in challenging either of the incumbent Republicans can do so by filing as a potential candidate at the county elections office. You must be a resident of Natrona County. It's a four year term representing the entire county.

Vitto says, "they are a partisan seat and, as we know, the primary election is August 21st."

Three  Republican challengers have already filed;  Leo R. Sanchez of Casper,  Lance Lyon of Bar Nunn, and Julie Collins of Casper.

The county does not have online registration capability so, Vitto says, candidate filing needs to be done in person.

The elections office is in room 154 at the Natrona County Courthouse, 200 North Center Street, Casper.

Filing closes at end of business June 1st.
