CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Trustees of University of Wyoming will consult the public over the next two-and-a-half weeks as they determine how to handle the search for a new president.

The university said Thursday that they will survey the campus and general public to find out what kind of person they want to see replace current President Dick McGinity.

McGinity announced recently that he plans to resign in June 2016.

Five UW trustees will gather community input on whether to hire a search consultant, what qualifications the next president should have, how the applications should be reviewed and what time frame the search should have.

The search will be discussed at two forums on May 4.
