LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The coalition heading the search for the next University of Wyoming president is considering input from the public in their presidential selection.

The UW presidential search consultant and search committee hosted nine meetings this week. Faculty, students and Wyoming residents had a chance to weigh in on what the group should be looking for in the university's next president.

At the meetings, people said the president should have good relations with the state Legislature, experience with higher education and the qualities of a strong leader.

The search consultant, Alberto Pimentel, has completed several hundred searches with a focus in large research universities. He says the meetings will help him narrow down recruits and present the most fitting candidates.
