A 67-year-old Powell man died Wednesday while on a hunting trip northwest of Cody.

The cause of Richard Allen Fisher's death has been ruled a "cardiac event" by Park County Coroner Tim Power, according to a news release from the Park County Sheriff's Office.

Fisher and his brother were hunting Wednesday in Beem Gulch, an area of Little Sunlight about six miles west of the Chief Joseph Highway. Fisher was helping his brother drag a harvested cow elk when Fisher collapsed.

His brother reportedly attempted CPR, but Fisher never regained consciousness.

The brother then hiked a quarter-mile to find cell phone service so he could call 911.

Park County Search and Rescue and a wilderness medical team from West Park Hospital, along with a medical helicopter from REACH Air Medical Services, began a search around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Searchers found the Fisher's body around 5 p.m. off Forest Service Road 105, about a half-mile south of Little Sunlight Road. They confirmed that he was dead, and removed the body at about 6:10 p.m.
