Casper police are investigating whether there are any connections to a woman reported missing over the weekend and a presumed drowning in the North Platte River.

A missing person report was filed for 36-year-old Bobbie Stringham, who was last seen in the area of the North Platte River near North Center Street around the same time a woman went under the ice before rescuers could reach her.

At around 5am Saturday January 19th, emergency crews responded to a report of a woman calling for help from the river in the 1200 block of North Center Street.

The woman went under the ice before she could be rescued, and has not been seen since.

A police department spokesperson says they can't say if there is a connection between Stringham and the drowning incident, because rescue crews have not yet found a body.

Anyone with any additional information is urged to contact the Casper Police Department.
