Portions of WYO 70 Closed Due to Storm

Blowing snow and poor visibility have forced the closure of WYO 70 over Battle Pass between Encampment and Baggs today.

All hunters and and hikers up on the pass are urged to to leave the area as soon as they can with road conditions predicted to further deteriorate into Wednesday morning.

WYO 70 joins as closed a portion of WYO 130 over the Snowy Range between Laramie and Saratoga.

The gates are swung annually on both alpine roadway sections when relatively low traffic, combined with increasing snow accumulations, make plowing operations impractical.
