Replacing the surface of a stretch of Poplar Street just south of the Interstate may bring some inconvenience to folks who need to drive it everyday. The Wyoming Department of Transportation offered an open house Wednesday presenting the road work project set to begin at the end of April and continue through much of the summer.

"When you start getting below the pavement, that tends to take a little more time. Sewer, water line type stuff, plus with us wanting to keep it open to at least minimal traffic for most of it, that does slow down the process a little bit."

Mark Ayen, Wydot district construction engineer, says one stretch closest to the railroad bridge will require full closure for about 10 days.

Ayen says they'll try to schedule that at a time of low impact (avoiding holidays and major events) and let folks know well in advance.
