The Cheyenne Police Department will be beefing up it's presence during Cheyenne Frontier Days 2013 with help from outside agencies, according to a spokesman for the Cheyenne Police Department.

Officer Dan Long says the CPD will be bringing in officers from the Laramie and Casper Police Departments this year. Long says the extra officers will be specifically used to target drunk drivers. He adds  that while he hasn't heard an exact figure on how many extra officers will be brought in, his understanding is that it will be ''multiple" officers from each agency.

Because Cheyenne has a memorandum of understanding with Laramie and Casper, the extra officers will be paid by their own departments rather than by Cheyenne. But Long says Cheyenne may be called upon to reciprocate by supplying officers for events in those communities at some point.

Long also says Cheyenne Police will once again this year be cracking down on underage drinking at Frontier Park, including the use of undercover officers to catch violators.
