Police Shooting Turns Deadly

CODY, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities say a Cody police shot and killed a man who fired a rifle at officers during a domestic disturbance.

The Big Horn Radio Network reports that a Cody officer shot and killed 34-year-old Jared Christen on Tuesday night.

A police report states Christen's wife called police to report he was throwing furniture.

When police arrived at the home, Jared Christen was in the basement with his two young sons and refused to let them leave.

Police say Christen was shot when he left the basement and fired shots at officers. He was pronounced dead at West Park Hospital.
