Hundreds of volunteers are expected to help out this weekend as the city of Casper undertakes its 6th annual Platte River Revival. The Revival is an ongoing project to restore and revive the health of the river corridor. Jolene Martinez is the event coordinator with the city who says they'll have boats and volunteers working in the river along with crews working on the banks .

"BLM crews and forestry crews have cut hundreds of Russian Olives from Bryan Stock Trail, on the other side of the pedestrian bridge in that area. So we'll be hauling those out."

Martinez says plan to wear protective clothing like long pants and sleeves and bring a water bottle.

Volunteers should gather at 9am On Saturday at Mike Lansing Field.

The river cleanup will be followed by a thank you barbecue lunch.
