A SkyWest flight out of Gillette made an emergency landing at Natrona County International Airport Monday evening after an indicator light signaled an issue with the aircraft.

According to report a from the Natrona County Sheriff's Office, they were called out shortly after 6:00 PM  to assist with an inbound aircraft at "Alert 2" which is an "in-flight emergency", at the Natrona County International Airport.

SkyWest officials tell us the Bombardier CRJ200 jet was flying from Gillette, Wyoming to Salt Lake City, when an indicator light alerted the pilot that the aircraft needed to be looked at. McKall Morris with Skywest says that means that in this case, that meant the plane needed to divert. The plane was diverted to Casper and landed safely. The passengers were loaded onto another plane and flown to Salt Lake City later in the evening. Ms. Morris says mechanics are still looking into what caused the mechanical indication.
