A former employee at a Casper area nursing home has changed his plea, saying he took money from the non-profit group.

64 year-old Perry Vandeventer, has pleaded guilty to one charge of obtaining money by false pretenses.

Prosecutors say from March of 2008 to January of this year, Vendeventer worked as the Chief Financial Officer for the Sheperd of the Valley Care Center and during that time, he obtained almost fifty-two thousand dollars in fraudulent reimbursements.

The maximum penalty is ten years behind bars, but as part of a plea agreement, the state will seek no more than a four-to-six year sentence, although the defense can argue as to what an appropriate sentence should be.

Vandeventer recently moved to Colorado, and remains free on  five thousand dollars bond.

He is now waiting to be sentenced.
