People And Financial Skills Wanted in New CEO
The President of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees says the ability to get along well with hospital employees and strong financial skills are among the assets he would like to see in the hospital’s next CEO.
Joe Evans says about 1800 people work at Cheyenne Regional and ”we need a CEO who gets along well with our employees and brings out the best in them”. Evans also says ”we need to look at our finances” in light of the fact the federal government is dropping repayments to hospitals through Medicare and other programs. He says that means the next hospital leader will need a strong financial background.
Evans says the board also wants to look at ”any strategic alignments” that might benefit the hospital. Current hospital CEO John Lucas is retiring on September 1. Margo Karsten has been named as interim CEO until a permanent head of CRMC can be found.
