A three vehicle crash on September 1st has resulted in the death of 65 year old Worland, Wyoming resident Richard D. Burt. The crash happened at 7:05 p.m. on US Highway 20/26 approximately 25 miles west of Casper, Wyoming.

Mr. Burt was driving a sedan westbound on US 20/26 when he crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane of travel. The car struck the trailer axles of a semi pulling the trailer driven by 52 year old Svyatoslav Hubenya of Happy Valley, Oregon.

After the initial collision with the trailer, the car then crashed into an eastbound pickup, also pulling a trailer, driven by 39 year old Brandi Ingham of Casper.

Burt was wearing his seat belt but still sustained fatal injuries on scene. Brandi Ingham was also wearing her seat belt, sustained injury and was taken to Wyoming Medical Center in Casper and hospitalized. Nine year old Brayden Ingham was traveling with Brandi Ingham in the truck and was seated properly in a child seat. He was taken to Casper and has been treated and released. Mr. Hubenya was buckled in and was not injured.

The crash did cause a temporary closure of the highway. Failure to maintain a single lane and a possible medical condition are being investigated as contributing factors in this crash that marked the 103rd highway fatality in Wyoming for 2015 in comparison to 102 fatalities in 2014.
