A two vehicle crash on Sunday lead to the 93rd fatality on Wyoming's highways. It happened on WY 34, about 13 miles southwest of Wheatland, Wyoming. 70 year old Daniel R. Shaffer of Clark, CO was riding a motorcycle and traveling west. The second vehicle, an SUV, was traveling east and being driven by 73 year old Mary L. Edwards of Yuma, Arizona. Edwards made a left turn from the eastbound lane, failing to yield to the motorcycle. Mr. Shaffer braked hard prior to the crash with the motorcycle ending up on its side on the pavement just before hitting the truck.

Mr. Shaffer was wearing a helmet but still suffered fatal injuries. Shaffer's speed at the time of the crash and Mary Edwards failing to yield are being investigated as contributing factors.
