A final candidate has been selected to fill the open Cheyenne City Council seat left vacant after the death of Councilman Jimmy Valdez.

Ward I Councilmembers Scott Roybal and Annette Williams interviewed their top five candidates Tuesday night and decided to nominate Jeff White for the seat.

Council President Dr. Mark Rinne will bring White’s name forward to the full city council for consideration and action. Public comment will be allowed after White is introduced at an upcoming city council meeting.

White works as the Deputy Administrator and Training Coordinator for the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services in the Vocational Rehabilitation Division. He earned his undergraduate and master’s degrees from the University of Wyoming.
