The City of Casper is adjusting its trash collection schedule for Thanksgiving. If you're on a Thursday collection route, then the city will collect on Friday, which bumps the Friday collections back to Saturday.

No trash pick-up Thanksgiving:

Text: "We will not be collecting trash on Thursday, instead we will be collecting Thursday's trash on Friday and Friday's trash on Saturday so both Thursday and Friday customers will be affected by that change."

Elizabeth Andress, administrative coordinator for Keep Casper Beautiful, says there is also a change for those on an extra trash collection day.

Extra trash collection, leaves:

Text: "If it happens to be your extra collection week, this week, they are only collecting leaves for that extra collection and that will be on your delayed trash day. If you're not sure when your extra collection is, you can either call the bale-fill at 235-8246, or you can get online at caperwy.gov and we have a chart that tells when your extra trash day is."

Andress emphasized the importance of not having trash in with the leaves, because the leaf litter is destined for the city compost yard and anything other than organic waste means the whole load has to go to the land-fill.

The city bale-fill will be closed Thursday. It will be open from 7:30 am to 1 pm on Friday, and the bale-fill will resume its regular hours on Saturday, which are from 7:30 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.
