LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department plans to begin work soon on a new regional office and laboratory in Laramie.

The state agency expects to break ground on the $18 million facility this fall.

Game and Fish currently has a wildlife forensics lab on the University of Wyoming campus. The location prevents the lab from getting accreditation and possibly federal funding.

The bigger lab also will allow the lab to do more work for the public. Game and fish charges for services such as health inspections at private fish hatcheries.
