A Casper man will avoid prison time after admitting that he was in possession of an illegal substance.

Neil Arcuri was given a two-to-four suspended prison sentence with two years of probation, after he pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance marijuana.

Investigators with both the Casper Police Department and the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation say in middle December 2015, officers met with a known but unnamed reliable confidential informant, who said he/she had observed a large marijuana grow, in the basement of a residence on the 300 block of Oleander Street, in southwest Casper.

After obtaining a search warrant, investigators were able to confirm that the information was accurate and found a multi stage marijuana grow operation, set up to be top of the line and of high quality.

Agents collected 54 suspected marijuana plants, and the buds of the plants weighed more than 375 grams without packaging.

Another confidential informant said that he/she was buying quantities of marijuana from Arcuri three-to-four times a week for the past three months.
