The Nicolaysen Art Museum is issuing a call to artists for small works to benefit the museum. Nicolaysen Director of Communications Clay Anthony says they are looking for artworks in any media, any subject, two dimensional or sculpture, as long as it's small.

Small, original artwork:

"We're looking for art pieces that are in the approximate five inch by seven inch size, for two dimensional or three dimensional pieces. If it's a little sculpture, as long as it would fit in a little box that's about five by seven, maybe a couple of inches deep, that would be great."

Mr. Anthony says the small works are a donation from the artists to the museum to raise money for museum programs. The works are auctioned off May 6th. In addition to helping the museum, artists get to see their works exhibited in the museum.

Proceeds benefit museum:

"And all of this is essentially a donation to the museum and we will display it for a couple of weeks during our Sensational Small Works showcase and sale and then we actually auction it off and use the money that we raised on May 6th to help fund museum programs."

The deadline for submissions is April 8th. For more information, artists can call the Nicolaysen Art Museum at 235-5247, or they can also go to the Nicolaysen Web site.

Guidelines on Web site:

"The complete guidelines and registration forms are all on our Web site so if they just go to www-dot-thenic-dot-org, they should be able to get everything they need right there."
