MANDERSON, Wyo. (AP) — An SUV ran a stop sign and was struck by a tractor-trailer truck, killing a woman and her two young children.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol says the crash occurred Tuesday evening on U.S. 20, just west of Manderson in Big Horn County.

The patrol says 29-year-old Kendra Pebbles and her 3-year-old son, Hunter Heitzman, and 2-year-old daughter, Katlynn Heitzman, died. All three were from Manderson and all were wearing seat belts or in child safety seats.

The patrol says the SUV driven by Pebbles went through a stop sign and was turning onto U.S. 20 when the crash occurred.

Troopers say excessive speed may have been a contributing factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
