Northern and western portions of the state will be in the best position for showers and thunderstorms today.  Further south the thunderstorm activity will be more isolated.  It will be a very warm day as well with highs from the mid 70s to perhaps near 90 in the southeast.  It will be cooler in the northwest and north due to the clouds and precipitation where highs will be in the 60s and 70s.

A cold front will slowly drift through the state on Saturday.  This front will be  a boundary for showers and thunderstorms to form on.  Saturday will be cooler, with then even cooler conditions expected behind the front on Sunday.  A trough of low pressure overhead will usher in cooler conditions from the north for the second half of the weekend.  Rain showers and a few thunderstorms are expected on Sunday too.
