One member of a Montana family died in a rollover crash south of Douglas on Interstate 25 Saturday morning.

Highway Patrol Sgt, Steven Townsend, says 69-yr-old, John H. Byrd, of Billings died when the vehicle he was a passenger in rolled.

"At the time the roadways were wet. It was snowing. Bridge decks were snowpacked and icy. As the vehicle crossed over a bridge deck the driver lost conrol."

The vehicle driven by, 37-yr-old, Aaron Byrd, rolled twice. All occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts, but Townsend says the nature of the rollover caused the elder Byrd to be partially ejected. The driver and two other passengers, ages 15 and 7, were treated and released from Memorial hospital of Converse County.
