A mock biological disaster, "Operation Prairie Eagle", continues this week with emergency response partners across the state participating. The Exercise requires mass distribution of anti-biotics in the face of widespread anthrax contamination. The practice scenario began last Friday in Natrona County and involved the Governor requesting from the Center for Disease Control medication from the Strategic National Stockpile.

Audrey Gray is Natrona County's public health response coordinator and she says they're also working with local volunteer registers.

"Wednesday we're opening our volunteer reception center which is actually a nationwide standardized type of response to process volunteers who might be coming out to volunteer in the time of a disaster."

Gray says its a chance to make sure they use health professional volunteers appropriately.

It's the largest exercise of its kind in the last five years and includes Wyoming National Guard Troops.

Operation Prairie Eagle continues through Friday.
