COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Military helicopters dispatched to fight a wildfire near Colorado Springs have now been sent back home.

Mitch Utterback of the Colorado National Guard said Sunday that helicopters from Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming have returned to their home bases.

The fight against the Black Forest Fire is focused mainly on the ground now as crews stamp out hot spots to prevent flare ups inside containment lines.

The National Guard still is helping secure roadblocks at the fire.
