The 8th Annual Methamphetamine and Substance Abuse Conference will be held in Casper Wednesday and Thursday. Meth and Substance Abuse Committee:

"The conference is hosted by a committee of community leaders with diverse backgrounds professionally with substance abuse, from law enforcement to treatment to prevention, and community leaders that come together to put together a presentation that's going to be all inclusive of the many impacts that substance abuse bring on the community as a whole."

Mike Burnett, chairman of the substance abuse conference committee, says they've brought in speakers from across the country, and the conference applies to some professional and continuing education credits.

Two-day conference:

"The conference starts on Wednesday morning, the 27th, here at the Best Western Ramkota. We'll have registration starting at 8 o'clock in the morning so if they have not registered they can register here at the door. It's 125 dollars for the two-day conference, with the speakers beginning at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning. With that we also have an evening panel here at the same location on Wednesday night, that panel is free to the public. And it is intended to be an educational forum for parents in the community to know and understand things to look for with youth relating to substance abuse."

Mr. Burnett also thanked their sponsors, including their diamond sponsors the McMurry Foundation, the Zimmerman Family Foundation and the Wyoming Department of Health. If you need more information...
