A Casper teen has been sentenced for killing his friend.

Seventeen-year-old Mathew Campbell was sentenced to serve twelve to fifteen years in prison, after pleading guilty to one charge of involuntary manslaughter and one charge of aggravated burglary.

According to prosecutors, Campbell and sixteen-year old Kraig Brusaw stole a gun from a vehicle in late July 2011.

Later when showing it off to some friends, the gun went off, and a bullet hit Brusaw in the head.

Brusaw later died from his injuries.

Campbell was already on probation at the time the shooting occurred.

Each sentence will be served concurrently.
