Man Shot by Police Identified
We now have more information on the man who was shot by police Tuesday night, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Two Casper Police officers, and a Wyoming Highway Patrolman were called to a home at 1421 Hornchurch Tuesday night at roughly 9:35 pm, after a report of a domestic disturbance.
The 911 call came from a young boy who said his step-father, 40-year-old Randall Williams, was fighting with his mother, Cindy Williams, and the fight had become physical. The boy also reported Williams had been drinking and had a gun.
When police arrived, Randall Williams accused his wife of making the 911 call, and according to the report, produced two handguns. He reportedly pointed both guns at his head and said he was tired of living.
Officers repeatedly told Williams to drop the guns, and when he made a comment about shooting the officers and pointed a gun at them, one of them fired and hit Williams in the stomach. He died later at Wyoming Medical Center.
It was later found that Williams had been using steroids and anti-depressants recently.
The shooting is still under investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation.
