Lummis Criticizes Cancellation of White House Tours

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo) issued the following statement on the cancellation of White House tours:

“President Obama has announced that because of the sequester cuts he is cancelling all White House tours, including long-scheduled tours by tourists and schoolchildren.  But, two weeks ago the Obama Administration purchased $50 million for new TSA uniforms, and just last weekend the Obama Administration gave Egypt $250 million. Hmm, there’s not a dime available for Americans to tour the peoples’ house.”

“President Obama is going out of his way to make Americans feel the spending cuts. He still has more money than he did when he first took office in 2009 – when we had White House tours galore. Don’t be fooled by the President’s ruse. He may not feel any pain but he’s making sure you do.”
