CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Rep. Cynthia Lummis has been appointed chairman of a U.S. House subcommittee.

She will chair the energy subcommittee under the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology.

The Wyoming Republican says the subcommittee focuses on the science of energy development and use. She says it is a perfect fit for the state she represents.

Lummis says she looks forward to ensuring that sound science is the basis for discussion on domestic energy production.
