A would-be shoplifter is arrested for trying to steal a light bulb.

At five-thirty pm on Tuesday, Casper Police responded to Albertson's on CY Avenue to deal with a suspected shoplifter.

Upon arrival, eighteen-year-old, Keith Dimick, was being held by grocery store security for allegedly attempting to steal a three and a half dollar light bulb.

Light bulbs are often used as make-shift pipes for smoking meth and other drugs. When questioned about his intentions for the light bulb, Dimick denied trying to steal the light bulb for drug use.

Dimick stated in a police interview, that he needed a new light bulb for his apartment but didn't have any money and didn't think to contact his landlord to replace it.

Dimick was unable to provide a proper physical address and was arrested for shoplifting.
