The Casper Recreation Division is looking for swimmers who have an interest in becoming lifeguards. A Red Cross program has been scheduled for anyone 11 to 14-years-old wanting to learn the skills needed to be certified as a lifeguard. Phase I classes will be held Mondays through Thursdays from June 18th to the 28th at the Washington Park Pool from 8:45 to 10:00 a.m. Phase I training includes introduction to swimming skills, physical ability expectations, prevention and response techniques. That phase must be completed before moving on to the advanced “Phase II” course.
