The Natrona County Public Library in Casper is considering a change in their hours of operation and they want to know what the community thinks. Library Spokeswoman Brenda Thomson says they've noticed a pattern with library patrons.

Empty library, line at the door:

"Well, we've been studying our usage for the past year and just noticing that our 8 to 9 o'clock hour in the evening is just not being quite as well used as the other hours. We also have noticed that we frequently have a line at the door in the mornings, so we're thinking of shifting that evening hour to the mornings so that we can serve more people."

Ms. Thomson says they would keep the library open the same amount of time and the Sunday hours would stay the same.

Present hours, proposed changes:

"Our current hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 9 pm, Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday 1 through 5 pm. So Monday through Thursday we'd be opening at 9 and closing at 8. Friday and Saturday we'd open at 9 and close at 5. And Sunday hours would remain the same."

And community comments will be accepted for consideration until June 30th.

You can fill out a survey:

"We would like to accept community comments on that. You can do that either by mailing them to the library, coming into the library and filling out a survey; we also have a survey up on our website; if you go to natronacountylibrary.org it's right on the front page there and you can let us know what you think about that."
