Natrona County Commission candidates will speak and answer questions at a public forum at the Public Library, 307 E. Second St., at at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

"It will give the public a chance for the public to get to know those people who are running for those three county commission seats that are up for a vote this November," said Brenda Thompson, the library's community relations coordinator.

The League of Women Voters is cosponsoring the event, and former Casper City Councilwoman Carol Crump will serve as moderator, Thompson said.

"It really gives you a feel for who they are as people and what's important to them," she said.

"Each candidate gets a few minutes to say why their running and a little bit about themselves," Thompson said. "She (Crump) has some questions about things that matter to our community, but then the pubic can also submit their questions in advance or at the forum."

According to the Natrona County elections office, the Republican candidates in the Aug. 19 primary are Jacquie Anderson, Brian T. DeVault, incumbent Robert L. Hendry. John Lawson, Janel Moore, Todd M. Murphy, Paul O. Paad, Stephen "Steve" Schlager and Ellen Young.

Democratic primary candidates are Mike A. Gilmore and incumbent Terry Wingerter.

Casper City Councilman Keith Goodenough is running as an independent and will not be on the primary ballot.
