The Natrona County Library Board will vote on a proposed $2.4 million budget for the next fiscal year at its monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, library director Bill Nelson says.

"The budget is status quo with two exceptions," he says.

The proposed budget adds $65,520 for security officers to watch the library grounds. Another $50,000 will support the "We Read" program with new books, the weekly "My Trib" kids paper, and publicity to encourage adults to read for 20 minutes a day to children, he says.

The board will submit the proposed budget to the Natrona County Commission for final approval later this spring.
