Whether to seek funds for a library expansion is on the minds of the Natrona County Library Board. They want to bring that question to the public over the next couple months for consideration and are calling for citizens to serve on an exploratory committee.

"That committee would go over the needs of the library, proposals for what the new library would possibly be and then looking at funding sources and whether or not we would go forward for a ballot measure in 2012."

Library Spokesperson, Brenda Thompson says the committee would consider all funding options. Those could include a penny tax or a bond issues like that requested in 2008. Voters said no at that time. Thompson says plans have been somewhat scaled back, construction costs are down and so the price tag would likely come in under 30 million.

If your interested in serving on a 20-30 person committee that will meet from sometime in February until May, contact the Natrona County Library for details and indicate your interest no later than Wednesday, February 8th.   Give them a call, 237-4935.
