The library in Casper has changed its hours beginning Tuesday morning. Natrona County Public Library will be opening its doors an hour earlier.

New hours at Natrona County Public Library:

"We're going to be open Monday through Thursday, 9am to 8pm, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 5pm, and Sunday, 1 to 5pm, so we'll be opening one hour earlier in the morning, and closing one hour earlier than we were in the past fall."

Community Relations Coordinator Brenda Thomson says they made the adjustment to the hours because they consistently found early birds waiting at the doors in the morning.

Hours contradicted actual use:

"We have been looking at the library statistics for a while and our usage drops off dramatically after 8 o'clock in the evening, so we've decided to switch that hour to the mornings so we can serve seniors, job seekers, families with young children, the kinds of folks who can use that hour earlier in the morning."

Ms. Thomson said the hours change only applies to the main library downtown. For more information you can call 577-READ or 577-7323, or you can log onto the library's website at www.natronacountylibrary.org.
