Law enforcement has detained a suspect in the reported robbery of the Points West Bank in Douglas on Monday afternoon, according to the Douglas Budget newspaper.

Law enforcement made the stop on southbound Interstate 25 at mile marker 140.

Police scanner traffic indicated that law enforcement are "'99. percent'" certain that the individual is the suspect, according to the Douglas Budget.

The report came in at 2:30 p.m. of the robbery of the bank on East Richards Street.

Police, deputies, and Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers canvassed businesses in the area.

The suspect was described as a dark-complected male in dark clothing, and a dark beenie, who fled westbound on East Richards Street.

As a precaution, Douglas Primary School and Douglas High School were on lockdown.

Buses resumed running after the suspect was apprehended.

Douglas Police Chief Ron Casalenda said in a press conference there was no threat to students, and that the other schools were informed.

Casalenda also said the Federal Bureau of Investigation probably will take over the case.
