CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is holding eight public meetings throughout the state later this month on its proposed 2012 big game and bird seasons. Public meetings will be held during the last week of March in Pinedale, Jackson, Worland, Sheridan, Laramie, Riverton, Casper and Green River. Game and Fish will be soliciting comment on all big game species as well as wild bison seasons and general hunting regulations.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Travelers will not see a hike in speed limits on certain highways anytime soon. A bill that would have allowed Wyoming transportation officials to raise the speed limit to 80 mph on certain stretches has died in a Senate committee. The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports the bill fell on Friday without a second motion to move it forward.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Three people believed to be involved in manufacturing a tainted batch of spice that made several Casper-area people sick have been taken into custody. Authorities made the arrests after several people were hospitalized for kidney failure caused by smoking the synthetic drug. Police Chief Chris Walsh says the trio were arrested on charges unrelated to possession of the drug. Authorities believe they are tied to its manufacture and distribution.

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Grant money is available to Wyoming agriculture producers and handlers interested in going organic. The Wyoming Business Council and the state Department of Agriculture are offering a program to help producers and handlers become organically certified. Grant winners would be reimbursed for 75 percent of organic certification costs up to $750.
