A former Casper mayor is skipping the next step of the judicial process, in which he's accused of possessing child pornography.

66-year old Larry Clapp has waived a preliminary hearing, in a case where he has been charged with possession of child pornography.

According to the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigations, in July members of the Computer Crime Team Task Force Unit, was investigating a file sharing network with child pornography on it.

Investigators downloaded two files that was made available from a computer IP address, that was traced back to Clapp's computer.

Upon serving a search warrant, agents found more than 100 movie files with names that appeared to be child pornography related, on an external hard drive, and some dated back as early as 2005.

When asked by investigators how long he had been doing this, he only replied..."You have the computer"...and did not say anything else.

Clapp remains free on 10-thousand dollars bond awaiting trial.
