The investigation continues into a former Casper mayor facing two charges of possession of child pornography.

According to the Natrona County District Attorney's Office, Larry Clapp has waived his right to a speedy preliminary hearing.

Normally a defendant is supposed to have a preliminary hearing within 10 days of their arrest, or within 20 days of their arrest, if they post bond.

The DA's office says even though both deadlines have passed, Clapp will still have the hearing, although they are still waiting on the Department of Criminal Investigations to finish collecting evidence.

Clapp, is a Casper attorney, who served as the city’s mayor in 1988, and also served in the state legislature for two years.
