LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie has formally broken ground on a $35 million expansion.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday.

The Associated Press reports the addition will include 30 patient rooms, a dialysis center, expanded laboratories and an upgraded operating room.

Also, existing patient rooms will be upgraded to include private showers and the cafeteria will be expanded.

Construction is expected to begin by mid-October and take two years to complete.

Hospital officials say they have the money for the expansion on hand and that patient costs won't rise.
