The Kelly Walsh boys swimming team placed a respectable 3rd at the state meet held over the weekend and the Campbell County Aquatic Center in Gillette. Trojans swimmer Kellen Chadderdon won the state championship in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 57.02. He was the only guy in the finals to finish below the 1 minute mark and his time was good enough for All-American consideration. Chadderdon also finished 2nd in the 200 freestyle and was on the 200 medley relay team that won the state championship along with Braden Lougee, Jonas Armstrong and Ian Pfaff, Chadderdon, Pfaff, Armstrong and Hudson Billings took 2nd in the 200 freestyle relay, less than a second behind Laramie. Pfaff had a strong meet as well with a silver medal in the 50 free and the 100 free. Armstrong placed 3rd in the 100 butterfly. KW also placed 3rd at the 4A state meet in 2018 and 2017.
